Something Special

I've been wanting to write this personal post for a while now.  This subject is special and quite dear to my heart.

When Jeff and I were planning our wedding, we realized that in addition to our priceless and true-agape-love family, we were surrounded by an incredible group of friends.  We were honored to ask several to be our bridesmaids, groomsmen, and ushers.  However, all were extremely attractive, and we didn't want them to think that was the reason we picked them!!  :)  I jest.  But seriously.

We wanted the "wedding party" thing to mean more than a medium-to-large financial commitment and an extra-large emotional and time commitment.  We wanted our friends to know that we expected their support not just on our wedding day, but also for the rest of our lives.  I want my girlfriends to kindly correct me when I'm not loving and submitting to Jeff.  He wants his buddies to call him out when he doesn't love me hard enough (like that'll ever happen).  We want them to promise to love our kids, even if they come out goofy looking.

So we made them sign a contract.

No joke.

Right after our rehearsal, but before the dinner, our groomsmen, bridesmaids, ushers, pastor and his wife all signed this document we carefully wrote and had printed.  Then, we got the attention of all our family members and had our friends read the contract to them.  Our parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins all got to hear our best friends pledge to surround and support us for the rest of their lives.

This might have been my favorite part of the whole wedding experience.  It was certainly the most powerful gift we received.

Have a looksie:

Look at those sweet signatures.  Some are rain-smudged, but I love the reminder of the beautiful-icky weather we had that weekend.

Feel free to read:

We have this hung in our living room.  Our plan is to always leave it up, so that when we have children, they see that their "aunts" and "uncles" have promised to always, no matter what, hold us accountable to the promises we made to each other and God.

THE BIG ANNOUNCEMENT

It's time!  It's time!  Did someone say it's time?  (two points to anyone who caught the Veggie Tales reference!)

That's right, folks!  Jenny and I are teaming up to offer up a killer deal on super-personal, super-customized, super-sized Christmas cards!  (Or "holiday cards," if you prefer :)

By super-sized, by the way, I mean 5x8, which is larger than your typical Christmas card, but not so large as to attract helicopters looking for a landing pad.  Worry not.

Here's how this works.  You email me ( becca @ bephotographyonline . com ) and tell me you're interested, and when abouts you're able to get this done.  The sooner the better, by the way!  Then I'll respond, and we'll get the details of whowhatwhenwhere worked out.  We'll also chat about what kind of design you're looking for.

Then we meet.  And you smile.  And I click.  And we laugh together and become the best friends anyone's ever had.

Then I go home, do a little magic, and then send you an email with a link to the best photos from your 30-minute session.

Within a few days, you'll get back with me and let me know what your TO DIE FOR favorite is.

I send it to Jenny (sister).

Within a few days, she sends me a couple proofs.  I send them on to you.  You pick your TO DIE FOR favorite, and let me know if you'd like to order more than the 25 that come with the package.  Also, you let me know if you'd like to order a disk of all the beautiful photos from our photo-date.

A few days later...you get your cards and envelopes, all wrapped up in a pretty package from yours truly.

...are you totally overcome with Christmas joy?!  Me thinks so!!  This is really easy, and I can guarantee you that no one else in the world will have a Christmas card like yours!

Here are some samples.  Jenny did an amazing job!

They're nice and thick and have a lovely glossy coat on both sides!

So, that gives you an idea of the kind of work we can do for you.  Remember, Jenny custom designs each card, so you'll get a design that really "fits" your family--and at a great price!  Win-win-win.

If you're interested, please go ahead and email me!  Deadline for everything is November 20.

Freedom Church | McKinney, Texas

If you're looking for a fun-loving, non-traditional, exuberant, Christ-centered church in the north-of-Dallas area, Freedom Church may be just right for you!!

Jeff and I were able to attend their House Party (read:  grand opening) last Sunday, and we had a blast!  Worship was flanked by a bounce house, DJ, hotdogs and snocones, eating contests, facepainting, and more.  The people at Freedom Church are wonderful--we really had a great time!  Here are a few photos from the event, as well as the photo booth.

Seriously?  Cute as it gets.

Watermelon rolling turns out to be a lot harder than it looks!

The kids played a lot of fun games that also helped them cool off in the heat.  This one involved water, sponges, 2-liter bottles, and a relay race!

Cutest little kitten face I've ever seen!

Thanks again for having us, Freedom Church!  You guys are great.  Expect your CD in the mail very very soon!!

Bobby and Dani Lewis | Irving, Texas Wedding

The year was 2004.  Bobby Lewis had fouled out of an intense high school basketball game, and the junior found himself on the bench with nothing to do to help his team.  His good friend Jeff (handsome fella if you ask me) wanted to help him out, though--so he struck up a conversation about a beautiful girl he wanted Bobby to take on a date.  Bobby, slightly cheered up, agreed.  (edit:  Jeff wanted me to make sure everyone knew that the reason he was on the bench was because he had fouled out, too.  :)

A few days later, his Oak Cliff pants sagging, he pulled up to the Flower Mound home of Miss Dani Clemens.  He says now that when he first saw her, he was immediately struck by her beauty--and who could blame him?  A brunette with striking green eyes, Dani was, and is, a sight to behold.  Their date was a success--and a relationship was born.

Fast forward to late 2009.  They'd been together for almost six years.  The time was right.  A ring was carefully selected.  Cupcakes were baked and bought--and Bobby once again pulled up to the Irving home of Miss Dani Clemens.  Brandishing her favorite dessert, Bobby presented Dani with an offer she couldn't refuse:    marriage.

Finally, September 10, 2011 arrived.  9-10-11.  A beautiful day, culminating a long courtship.  A perfect day, full of family and friends, tears and laughter.  A day they'll never forget.

warning:  many many pictures ahead!

Something old:  the garter Dani's mom and sister both used.

Something new:  Dani's mom bought her a butterfly pin to represent her mother--Dani's grandmother--who watched from heaven.

Something borrowed:  Bobby's baby picture.  Something blue:  his diaper bin.

Dani's wedding shoes and her reception shoes!!  She is so stinkin cute.

Seriously the most beautiful wedding party ever.  Except for mine.  It's probably a tie.  :)

I wouldn't normally post individual photos of each bridesmaid, but they are SO GORGEOUS!!  I can't help myself!!

And of course, the perfect bride.

Dani has a very special relationship with her parents, which was very evident throughout all the wedding festivities.

Sweet sweet flower girls!!  Cute as can be.

Beautiful rings!

Okay, and seriously.  Handsome as it gets.
Bobby has done some modeling for JC Penney--so this was an opportunity for all the guys to strut their "JC Penney" style!

Again.  Such a handsome, dapper group.  Had to show them all off.

Handsome and happy groom!

I almost missed the kiss!!  The pastor was doing such a great job delivering a beautiful message, and I totally got caught up in it--but don't worry, I got several money shots!

Hawt.

Bobby loves and respects his parents to no end.

Cute little Colton!

Oh yes it does.

Seriously, how cute are they?!

Sweet, emotional first dance.

I imagine every dad hopes his daughter looks at him like that on her wedding day.

Bobby picked out Boyz II Men's "A Song for Mama" for his dance with his mom.  Very sweet!!

And bonus...some of the guys sang along!

I STRONGLY recommend doing a dollar dance!!  Google it.  120% worth your time.

I have a picture like this from my wedding, and I treasure it.  I hope Dani loves seeing all these smiling, loving men surrounding her!

And like that, they're off to Jamaica!!

Bobby and Dani, knowing you for the past six years has been both an honor and a pleasure.  I can't wait to see what the future holds for all of us.  I love you both!!
