Okie doke folks, here's the final post on my parents!! They're such cutietooties.
Married in 1977 just weeks before they both turned twenty-one, these folks have spent the last thirty-three and a half years loving each other. They got married in Lubbock where they were both born and raised, and then moved to the Dallas area before the year was over, and they've been around here ever since. Dad had started working for TI when he was eighteen, and that job was the ticket to the area I call home.
Mom finished up school at TWU and become a teacher--an educator for the deaf, actually. Cool, right? Anyhow, before my brother was born in 1984, I think the family had given up hope of these two ever having kids. I followed in 1986, and then my sister in 1989. The 80's were good years for the Lowders!!
Then, the 90's. A little bit more tumultuous. TI sold Dad's department to Raytheon, and then very soon thereafter, Raytheon offered a layoff or a cross-country move. One big fat layoff later, Mom and Dad as well as a few other couples started a company that may or may not succeed-- Mustang Technology Group. That was over ten years ago, and the company is a booming success. Mom took turns working at our local high school as a sign language teacher and staying at home being our "Family Ambassador," as I call her--always going out and representing us so well.
Those are just a few highlights. Now, it's 2011, they have three grown kids, two of whom are college graduates and one who's still cookin, a son-in-law, and a great life together. They're neato torpedo.
From what I can tell, from both experience and Biblical teachings, the biggest and best thing parents can do for their kids is love each other more than anyone else in the world--including their children. Can you see it?
PS Aren't they foxy?? Love you guys mucho mucho!!
xoxo Bec
